An infinity stay at Amara Bangkok

When people talk about Bangkok, they will always mention how busy the city is. They may mention the beautiful temples, the vibrant street life and possibly a story about how they tried a scorpion on a stick (something that I, Nav, really wanted to do but freaked out when I saw the size of them) and yet the busyness of the city will always be mentioned. Therefore, we decided that we wanted to stay in a beautiful luxury hotel, so that we could relax after a busy day exploring. Amara Bangkok was perfect for this, as not only did the rooms offer a beautiful view of the city, but it also had a rooftop infinity pool. Now who doesn’t love an infinity pool?

Once we arrived in Bangkok after our 14 hour flight from England, we dropped our bags off at Amara Bangkok and headed straight for the temples. After about 5 hours of exploring the beautiful temples, the traveling and heat got to us, and although it was only 4pm, we decided we needed to call it quits and head back to the hotel.

Once checked into our room, we headed straight for the shower. The bathroom was spacious and modern with floor to ceiling glass windows looking over Bangkok’s famous Mahanakhon Building. The bathroom had not only a large bathtub but also a glass, waterfall shower.

Once cleaned and refreshed we got into our Amara dressing gowns and relaxed on the large comfy bed. The bed was so comfy we ended up having a quick nap.

As we had booked a club room, it included access to the club lounge. This meant that we could go to the club lounge any time and enjoy a selection of  complimentary canopies and drinks whilst enjoying them on a beautiful balcony. We would definitely recommend upgrading to one of the club rooms as we loved just sitting on the balcony and enjoying a few nibbles and drinks.

To end the day, Amara had arranged a meal for us at their elegant hotel restaurant, Element. The restaurant had a lovely ambiance and you could see the chef elegantly putting together your food. We always love to share a starter, so we chose the prawn spring rolls and for the mains I got a Thai prawn dish with rice and Jaz chose the prawn pad thai with egg crepe.

After our meal we decided to retire to bed and drifted off to sleep.

We had one of the best sleeps and awoke feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the day. But first… breakfast! We had the choice of dining in the club lounge or in the normal breakfast restaurant. We opted for the normal breakfast restaurant as there is more choice but then went to the club lounge and enjoyed the morning view with a latte and some food.

Sadly it was time to say goodbye to Amara Bangkok, as we were headed to Chiang Mai next. We received the best service; the staff were so friendly and helpful.  We had a wonderful stay and hope to visit again.
