Cappadocia is most famously known for its beautiful sunrise balloon flights but it is also known for the unique cave hotels. There are many cave hotels situated in Cappadocia but one of the most famous is Museum Hotel. From the many Instagram photos, you can see why. It is is situated in Uchasir, the highest point in Cappadocia and features incredible views. Museum Hotel is the only Relais and Chateau property in Turkey and has been awarded the Best Luxury Boutique Hotel in Europe by the World Luxury Hotel Awards.
Arriving at Museum Hotel, you are presented with the most amazing view and the prettiest infinity pool, which is heated to a lovely temperature. The hotel is very unique in that it feels as though you are living in an actual museum; there are vases, statues and pots placed around the property and behind glass in the rooms are relics of ancient Cappadocia. Each room has its own theme. We stayed in room Kandili which means candle and it was gorgeous. It features the comfiest king sized bed, a sitting area which features incredible views and a very lovely bathroom.
As you explore the hotel you will encounter a family of turtles in the turtle garden, a group of majestic peacocks and pigeons.
Although Museum Hotel, is not the cheapest in Cappadocia, it is truly is a unique hotel and needs to be experienced if your budget can stretch it. Breakfast is included and has lots of many options. It is a buffet style with an egg station and even a traditional bread stove.
Museum hotel is like no other hotel that we have stayed in. It oozes luxury and the service is second to none. We loved the decor of the hotel but our favourite part of the hotel has to be the infinity pool. It is warmed to lovely temperature so even if it is cold outside, like it was when we visited in May, a swim in the pool was perfect and so relaxing.
